Liong Lie Architects shared with us their most recent competition entry titled, ‘mARkeT’, designed as a moving floating market to renew the art-trade cycle for Opgap where they won the third prize last October. They aimed at creating a conscious shopping experience in an inspiring environment from creation to shopper. More images and architect’s description after the break.

The creation of an Art market, is not only the creation of a shopping space, is a place where the artist and the people come together, where they meet, talk, exchange ideas. At the same time is a place where the artist can find inspiration, and livable working environment, where he can easily find his isolation, and concentration or meet others to widen up his horizon and increase his creativity. It is the creation of a microcosm, of a small society, a representation of different worlds clashing into each other.
